I understand the library is unable to have a current list of NEW DVDs (adult) they have available for checkout because there are too many to list, they go out so often, and they are only considered "NEW" for 3 months.

But is it possible to have an engaging book like- "Flickipedia" by M.Atkinson & L.Shifrin or any of the sort, next to the stacks of (adult)DVDS. This way patrons are able to view "suggested" DVDS that the library might have?
Thank you.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to let us know how we can be a better library for you and other citizens of Elmhurst. We are in the process of ordering additional copies of Flickipedia and VideoHound's Golden Movie Retriever 2008 to keep near our movie area. As you suggest, these books might give people new movie browsing options. Thanks for the great idea!

I think it would be interesting to see by catagory the most popular
books which are being checked out
by our cardholders.
I also think its important for readers to have access to sites
where they can discover books which may interest them I use
http://www.awardannals.com/wiki/Main_Page This site is for books which have won more than one honor.

The easiest way to determine which books are popular with Elmhurst residents is to check the bestseller lists in the Chicago Tribune and the New York Times. Based upon the number of reserves placed each month, these are the titles in great demand. Most months, there are only about 20 individual titles in demand. This is a very small percentage of the more than 100,000 items that are circulated every month. Elmhurst readers enjoy a broad range of fiction and nonfiction books.

Staff in the Adult Services Department and the Kids’ Library agree that helping readers discover new titles is important, which is why there is a page on the Library’s website that provides readers with various book lists and other selection help. If you click on www.elmhurstpubliclibrary.org/booksmore and go to "find a good book for adults," you will find links for award-winning books, coming attractions, topic related book lists, and links to help you find new fiction and nonfiction titles. You can also go straight to www.elmhurstpubliclibrary.org/resref/pathfinder.php?subjectid=13 to find a good book.
